Week in Review

CATAGORIES: WEEK IN REVIEW — FloridaBill @ 9:28 am

File under Week 4 of 2010.

I got to chase my golden retriever puppy around for about two hours last night in the frigid temps (10 or below). I may never let her off a leash again. There is a wolf moon tonight if she escapes again, at least I will have some illumination.

So it is the Saints and the Colts in the Superbowl. Unless the Saints put Manning on his back (much like they attacked Favre) they can’t win.

New rules for truckers and bus drivers: No texting. This is a good thing.

There is only one possible caption for this mug shot:
Gary Coleman
What you talking bout Willis? Once again, the media uploader does not want to function for me. You’ll just have to click the link.

Perhaps he was reacting to this headline:

Man Caught with 44 lizards in his pants.

or this story:

California School District Embarassed

Nancy Kerrigan’s brother Mark has been arrested and charged in their father’s death. He is our Fucktard of the Week.

From the I hate it when this happens file comes this story about a man who wasn’t quite dead yet.

The afterquake in Haiti continues to shock and awe.

Finally this week, RIP to author J. D. Salinger, maybe now you can be all the recluse you want to be.

Enjoy your freedoms and happy healthy weekends to all.

CATAGORIES: WEEK IN REVIEW — FloridaBill @ 9:00 am

File under Week 3 of 2010.

I thought we would start today with a listing of my favorite headlines from the week:

Healthy Beer Drinking. That reminds me to thank my friend Fred for helping me with my sump-pump problem last Sunday. Thanks Fred. We had a little clean water in the basement because the pump went out and the snow melt is on. I owe you another one Fred…(I owe him several by now).

Forget Gum. Walking and using the phone is dangerous. Texting is worse. You can’t possibly watch where you are going if you are looking at the screen on your phone. Simple isn’t it? Now, we need to ban the damn things while driving.

Two arrested after Minn. Ice Fishing House Blows Up. Police allegedly FOLLOWED THE FOOTPRINTS back to the house where the two perpetrators were partying. Have people just gotten stoopider?

2011 GT 350 revealed. Click the link for a keen slideshow of new cars.

The situation in Haiti following the earthquake last week is not improving swiftly. Violence and lack of supplies are marring efforts to help. With no food, no water, no medical care and no work (unemployment was over 80% before the quake) it really is looking dismal. A strong aftershock hit on Wednesday (there was a smaller one last night) making a bad situation even worse. Can Haiti be rebuilt? Should it be? I say they level the entire place and begin anew.

Fucktards of the week:

I am not sure if there is a Fucktard in this whole late night fiasco, other than the network, NBC. My thing is this: does anyone really care? I do not, but I do think that Conan is funnier that Leno and Craig Ferguson put together. Apparently as a consolation prize to the loser, Conan gets millions. I wonder if NBC has any job openings cause their severance plan is awesome.

Christopher Spelight is a Fucktard this week for killing eight people and shooting down a police helicopter in Virginia.

John Edwards is a Fucktard (again) for finally admitting that he is the father of Reilly Hunter’s kid, Frances Quinn. Why did it take so long? She is nearly two years old Was he waiting for his wife to die first? That guy is a jizz-pouch.

Abdulhakim Muhammad‘s plea change to guiolty makes him a Fucktard. Not that he changed his plea so much as he now admits ties to Al Queda.

Finally, congratulations again to Scott Brown (an anti Fucktard), the new REPUBLICAN Senator from Massachusetts.

Enjoy your freedoms and happy healthy weekends to all.

Forty one! Forty one! Forty one!

In a stunning upset, Massachusetts now has a Republican Senator, Mark Brown, the new lion of the Senate. His first victim? Martha Coakley. He came from behind and upset the supermajority that the democrats have enjoyed and also upsetting the one year anniversary of President Obama’s inauguration.

Well done Mr. Senator Brown!

[BlogLord Comment]:
Thank You

Week in Review

CATAGORIES: WEEK IN REVIEW — FloridaBill @ 9:01 am

File under Week 2 of 2010.

Welcome to the end of the second week of 2010.

I am planning a trip to see Yarbz for his birthday/JuggFest in March. It should be great fun. Perhaps we can write a song about how crappy the last decade was?

This week’s list of Fucktards of the Week:

Harry “Balls” Reid. He is a racist fuck and should resign now. How can he be so insensitive? Did he say light-skinned? Negro? OMG! How could he? He should call Trent Lott (nice article by Ted Nugent) for some advice.

Mark McGuire. Glad you got that off your chest and are being honest, but you shoulda come clean a long time ago brother. You make Jose Canseco look good and you get an asterisk for life and beyond.

Long time anti-gun ownership NC State Senator R. C. Soles shot one of two burglars in his home on Sunday. That is only really remarkable since he is such a virulent anti-gun wingnut/self-loathing hypocrite/Fucktard. See, guns are only good for his protection and not yours. Frankly, it is too bad he didn’t shoot the other guy too.

New USC Head Football Coach Lane Kiffin is a Fucktard for leaving Rocky Top after only one year as their coach. Pretty effing lame dude. I guess he couldn’t handle coaching in the SEC. Good luck Trojans, you are gonna need it. For the record, Kiffin went 7 and 6 in his first and only year at TN and is now recruiting some of his recruits to SoCal. Is that against the rules? My money says he won’t do that well at USC.

In other news this week:

Record bass

Is everyone ready for a new Jimi Hendrix album now almost 40 years after his death? I can’t say that I am sure one way or the other, but I will certainly have a listen. While not dead nearly as long, Johnny Cash also has a new album out. Soon to be 70 and not dead yet, Ringo Starr also has a new solo album called “Y Not”. Like he could release one with his old band which hasn’t been around since Hendrix died.

This was not good news. Your freedoms are on the decline folks. And the TSA isn’t going to lighten up any time soon. Basturds.

BTW: If you have not seen the film “Inglorious Basterds”, it is great. If you like Quentin Tarantino films, you will love that movie and the liberties it takes with history. There are several really good performances (I love Brad Pitt’s accent and the guy who plays the main evil Nazi was also fantastic) and the soundtrack could be from a Sergio Leone movie.

Today marks the one year anniversary of the Miracle on the Hudson. Still gets a big WOW from me.

In the really bad news of the week category is the earthquake that nearly destroyed Haiti. This is a place that is used to disasters, both natural (hurricanes) and man-made (i.e.: political and poverty). However, this one is bad and appears to have damaged the entire country. Amazingly, on the other side of the island, there appears to be very little (if any) damage in the Dominican Republic. The destruction and reports of loss of life from Port Au Prince and other locations in Haiti get worse daily.

Enjoy your freedoms and happy healthy weekends to all.

From my e-mail

Cash for Clunkers

A clunker that travels 12,000 miles a year at 15 mpg uses 800 gallons of gas a year.

A vehicle that travels 12,000 miles a year at 25 mpg uses 480 gallons a year.

So, the average Cash for Clunkers transaction will reduce US gasoline consumption by 320 gallons per year.

They claim 700,000 vehicles, so that’s 224 million gallons saved per year.

That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil.

Five million barrels is about 5 hours worth of US consumption.

More importantly, 5 million barrels of oil at $70 per barrel costs about $350 million dollars.

So, the government paid $3 billion of our tax dollars to save $350 million.

We spent $8.57 for every dollar saved.

I’m pretty sure they will do a great job with health care though . . ..

Week in Review

CATAGORIES: WEEK IN REVIEW — FloridaBill @ 4:28 pm

File under Week 1 of 2010.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years.

I am posting this after a night watching Alabama win it’s first National Championship in many years, Roll Tide. I am very proud of the team.

Also, I went hunting with Spazticus and his brother this morning very early. Warning to pheasants in Kankakee State Park: If you fly, you die. Well, that isn’t quite true. I have been bird hunting a few times this year and my marksmanship is improving. However, we got skunked today, even though we shot at a couple of birds. I recently went to a private club with a buddy and we shot “chuckers”, which are Austrian Partridges. Way fun.

The other big news since Christmas day is named Abdulmutallab. That looks like this:

To say what he got away with is shocking is to say the least. These binary bombs (made from two ingredients that until they are put together are harmless) are pretty scary and will no doubt result in added airport security that is already taxed and fairly stupid. I like the fact that Mr. Abdulmutallab probably fucked up his private parts when his bomb fizzled. Well done young man, you have the distinction of being our very first Fucktard of the new year/decade. When he gets the death penalty, they should strip him naked and broadcast his injuries over Al Jazerra TV to the Al Queda bastards in Yemen and Afghanistan so they can see what can happen. Abdulmutallab won’t have much use for his virgins (or Virginians) if he can’t get wood…Nice. There is some justice in the world after all.

I loved this headline: Cold Iguanas Falling from Trees. It’s raining lizards! I very much doubt they could have handled the 8 inches of snow that we walked thru this morning looking for pheasants.

Enjoy your freedoms and happy healthy weekends to all.
